Iftar at the Golden Tulip

Golden TulipIn the last few weeks as we have said good-bye to a number of people returning to their home countries, we have also had the privilege of welcoming those who are new to Bahrain and new to the cathedral. A distinctive group has been a group of South African nurses who have come to King Hamad hospital; Whites, Africans and Indians- the wonderful rich make-up of the rainbow nation. Wednesday evenings have been a important way for those who are new to meet and get to know those who have been here for longer and to integrate them into our community. As I said to them they’ll be asking those who return in September “are you new to the cathedral?” and discovering that they’ve been here for ten years!
