We welcomed Dr Solomon Kumar as our speaker at the Living Room Dialogue on Sunday evening. Currently serving as a General Practitioner at the American Mission Hospital, Dr Solomon reflected on his life’s work as a doctor particularly highlighting his early specialty in working with leprosy patients in India. He served for several years in Saudi Arabia, which had clearly been difficult time for him away from his wife, but he spoke of being sustained through his grounding in the Christian faith and memory of the Bible. Finally he spoke of his rewarding time working in AMH and the importance of prayer in his work as a doctor. Though recalling some remarkable examples of healing, he also spoke of the importance of suffering as a teacher in Christian faith. |
