I also had the honour of speaking to the Bahrain Society at the Army and Navy Club in London: a group of former Bahrain residents, ambassadors and servicemen. I had prepared a powerpoint presentation before going on leave highlighting the variety of aspects of life that St Christopher’s as a community is involved with. The photo that surprised them most was the one on the back of the booklet produced for our Diamond Jubilee 60 things you may not know about St Christopher’s Cathedral Bahrain. It seems so insignificant surrounded by the buildings of the Ministry of Interior, but continues to have a big impact like Jesus’ parables of the yeast and the mustard seed. Laurel Winter, the Secretary wrote afterwards: “I was surprised how much St Christopher’s was involved in my life, something I never really thought about until I was organising your talk. I am pleased to see from you pictures and your talk that it plays a big part in so many people’s lives today.” |
