National Day Celebrations
 On Sunday I attended the National Day Celebrations at the University of Bahrain, presided over by His Majesty the King. It would have taken place outside, but because of the persistent rain, it was held in the theatre of the university. I was a little anxious about the timing of events with commitments later in the day, but I need not have worried: amazingly the ceremony started earlier than scheduled, and kept well ahead of the programme with impressive efficiency. The main focus of the  event on the 25thAnniversary of the University of Bahrain was education.
The rain persisted late into the evening and created a striking light in the Cathedral surrounds. |
