 For the second year we celebrated American Thanksgiving at the Cathedral and this year Captain Mark Steiner, the US Navy Force and Fleet Command Chaplain, was our preacher. He took as his text the words of Deuteronomy 8:2 :Remember the long way that the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, in order to humble you, testing you to know what was in your heart…” and in particular the challenge of what is in our hearts. Following his sermon, Jill, who has recently volunteered her services as a pianist played a magnificent arrangement of How great thou art as an instrumental which gave us all space to ponder the challenge of the message in our own lives. |
