We have enjoyed hosting of Paul and Rebecca Armerdingthis week, their first of three in Bahrain. Paul headed up the American Mission Hospital for many years until a few years ago and he and Rebecca were deeply involved in the local community in Bahrain; they now continue to travel extensively – Mongolia, Kenya and Ghana being recent countries where Paul has led some courses, so they have a breadth of perspectives on Mission and the World Church.
Danny Barger, the Pastor of Saar Fellowship has been trying to organize a joint trip to the Holy Land after Easter next year with involvement from the Cathedral and National Evangelical Church, so I met with him and Jim Harrison, Pastor of the English Language Congregation of the NEC, over lunch on Wednesday 10th October. I have received a warm response to the idea from several Cathedral members, but anxieties about the high cost quoted. Danny is going back to try and work at reducing costs. |
