 My leave ended with a week in the Forest of Dean with all the family and my sister and her family joining us for a few days. We celebrated my 60th birthday ( a little early!) with a few friends past – Emlyn and Tricia Williams from our Cambridge days, who both work with Scripture Union – and present Steph, Puna and Arjun Hanson-Singh – all joining us for a barbecue on the Sunday. It was quite an active week and included canoeing down the River Wye, cycling around forest paths and a walk around a forest sculpture trail. It has been fun getting to know The Forest of Dean, a part of the world that was off the beaten track for me until our first visit last year.Dan and Alex dropped me off early for the BA flight back to Bahrain on Saturday to be on duty for Sunday morning. |
