The site of Downton Abbey: Monday 4th April 2016

Highclere Castle was the first stop on the Monday the first part of a Christmas-birthday present for Tricia from our eldest, Alex, who’d worked out we should be travelling near as we travelled westwards to Ross-on –Wye for her birthday celebrations. The ‘Abbey’ factor has made this a big draw for people from all over the world eager to see the rooms and furnishings where the series was filmed even in the pouring rain as it was as we arrived. The second part of the present was tea at Littlecote House Hotel, where amazingly we met one of our nearest neighbors from our previous parish in Kent doing the same thing.
