Watchnight and New Year Services Wednesday 31st December2014/ Friday 2nd January 2015
We joined the Tamil –speaking congregation for aWatchnight Service and it was good to see the Kenyan community turned out in force, Watchnight services being part of their tradition at home. “Begin the year as you intend to go on” they said.
We didn’t have a New Year’s Day Service this year but the Tamil community joined the Friday morning service in strength and in
the evening following their own service followed their own traditions in visiting the priest’s house and presented me with a traditional garlandand Tricia with a shawl. The establishing of the Tamil congregation has been one of the very positive events of 2014.
On 5th January there was a spectacular full moon hanging over the Cathedral, not really captured very well in this photo, but in reality very striking.
