We are in the midst of more farewells at present: Ian Mckie last week along with Marilou and Elize, South African nurse managers, who in the short time that they were here became very much part of the church family. And sadly there are more in the pipeline. On Thursday we had lunch in Hoake (meaning hospitality) restaurant in the Women’s Royal University where Teen has been running a restaurant on behalf of a friend. It was Teen’s last day there. Peter and Teen will be moving on soon. Thankfully there was a couple who were in the cathedral for the first time this morning and talking we found we had mutual friends from our Cambridge days (late70’s/early 80’s). Welcoming and farewelling is very much part of life and ministry in Bahrain. |
