BarbequeOne of the St Christopher’s/ Awali traditions is to go Kite Flying on Ascension Day, so after a break of a couple of years pool and bbq parties we returned to Al Jezayer beach for kite flying and there was one Kitesspecially high rise kite, a barbecue and an informal service. William Temple wrote this about the Ascension;

The Ascension did not represent Christ’s removal from the earth, but his constant presence everywhere on earth…. Now he was united with God he is present wherever God is and that is everywhere. Because he is in heaven, he is everywhere on earth, because he is ascended, he is here now.

UFOAs well as kite flying, some indulged in some fairly dramatic pyrotechnics with lit lanterns taking off from the beach helped on their way by a healthy dose of lighter fuel, so if there were any UFOs spotted over Bahrain, then the source may well have been the gathering on the beach.
