Wheelathon: Saturday 20th February 2015
The day began with strong wind, rain and plenty of dust flying about, which probably discouraged a few people from attending the Wheelathon, but those who went had a great day out. The main aim of the day is to give people the opportunity to experience Bahrain’s Formula One track on wheels with no competitive side to it at all, but this year for the first time there was a Duathon – running-cycling-running – for young people wanting to take part and also competing against some members of the Bahrain Triathlon National Squad. It was great to see some of our cathedral young people do really well, especially as some of them were competing on bikes that were clearly not as “professional” as others. Congratulations to all who took part in a grueling event.
