The Alun Morris Hall never strikes me as a very attractive setting for worship, but it is amazing how it can be transformed for the Christmas Eve Christingle service. We put a cross-shaped table in the centre with candles outlining the cross and make concentric circles around it. With the hall full, there is a wonderful sense of community and this year there was a quieter attentive stillness than I remember from previous years and slipping in towards the end of the service was Yusuf Bu Zaboun President of The Bahrain Society for Tolerance and Religious Co-existence. I always keep an eye out for what St Paul’s Arts and Media from Auckland, New Zealand produce on youtube and showed their Star News report from Bethlehem. An Unexpected Christmas I will hold back till Christmas morning. |
