Morning with the Tamil community
An early start – 7.30am – with our Tamil congregation and I was glad of the eight seats in our car as I collected two families on the way. It was not the easiest venue to find, not far from the northern boundary of Bahrain airport. They were there for the whole day, but I had to return to the cathedral after breakfast, a game of cricket (England against India) and a swim to meet a couple who are getting married on Sunday.
It is wonderful to see the Tamil congregation grow in confidence and drawing both new families and “bachelors”, who are living in the labour camps here and who really appreciate an organized day like this. It has been one of the best decisions the BACC has made to launch this congregation and their appreciation of the Cathedral for providing a service in their own language is regularly expressed.
