 The summer season of farewells has begun – there are two families –the Mooreys and the Slatterys – leaving and also Risper, Patrick Simon and Nic Martin: to Portugal, the United States, Lesotho, Sri Lanka and to London. I never find this time of the year easy, but it was good to have a large gathering – more than fifty people- at the British Club to have a farewell lunch for our friends. Many in the coming two weeks will be heading off on their summer holidays including Stephen and his family to India, so the church will be much quieter through July and August and perhaps especially July which coincides with Ramadan. Thankfully as well as people leaving new people are joining too, three at the lunch today. |
