With half-term and clearly a number of families away, we were rather fewer than usual for Lent pot painting but those who came had a lot of fun with painting and design and with sun and breeze to dry the pots the work was soon done and by the evening the pots were ready for collection with the Count Your Blessings sheet for each pot taken. These sheets are adapted from Christian Aid the UK charity encouraging people not just to put loose change into the pot but to think of important global issues like food and water, climate change, health and education, gender inequality, and human rights and to go on a journey through Lent that will transform the way we see the world. Money collected in the pots will go to the work of the ECC. |
