Written in the dust on the bonnet of our car this morning were the words from the song we’d sung at yesterday’s family service on Esther: Be bold. Be strong. Viv Buckle was preaching and highlighted the fact that ‘God’ was not referred to in the story, and yet rather like Where’s Wally can be found on every page if you look carefully. So Viv took us through the story of Esther suggesting times when God’s presence had perhaps been experienced by Esther, or as Mordecai said : who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this? And she encouraged us to reflect on the journey of our own lives and how God might have interacted with them to enable his will to be fulfilled. |
