Music for a Summer’s Evening: Thursday 11th June 2015

To bring the Concert season to an end we had a really delightful programme of music from four fine musicians: Michelle Miles (piano), Paul Bagshaw (flute), MusicAndy Holman (trumpet) and Erika Nottingham Rawles (soprano). It was a special joy to see so many children among a very appreciative audience – something we encourage by offering free tickets.  They gave a wonderfully varied programme, in various combinations of instrument and voice, of music by Mozart, William Lloyd Webber, Saint Saens, Puccini, Britten, Vaughn Williams, Hoover, Granados, de Abreu and Barber. Once the press picked up ‘Lloyd Webber’, they assumed that it was Andrew, though the programme they’d been sent made it very clear that it was William (Andrew’s father)! In thanking the performers at the end, I invited musicians present to offer me a date for September onwards and I’m delighted to announce a concert is booked for Thursday 1st October.
