 The Manama Singers Easter Concert The Seven Last Words by Theodore Dubois was a very special event. There are several cathedral members who are part of the choir, Cathy Roberts was one of the soloists and Jill Laping is the regular accompanist. As usual I helped with Front of House at both the 4pm and 7pm concerts, which is always a good way of meeting people in a different context. It was held in the St Christopher’s School Hall in Saar, and despite the Formula One winding up to fever pitch and Gloria Gaynor singing elsewhere, both grabbing the main publicity, there were reasonable audiences for both occasions. It was a wonderful preparation for Passiontide. |
