|There were so many rich experiences on our long summer leave this year that it is only possible to highlight some of them. Among these celebrating the weddings of my two nieces in August were very special. Both were international events: Katherine marrying Isaaya from Uganda in Wilmslow in the north-west of England – as a Cathedral family we have been supporting Katherine in her work with street children in Kampala;
and Tina marrying Christian from Germany in the south of England. There was a large family group from Germany and they were married in St Hubert’s Church in Idsworth, a tiny church with old box pews that is literally in the middle of a field and into which the one hundred and twenty guests squeezed.
