The Life of Pi

The Life of PiIn the evening we took the young people in TGIF to The Life of Pi which provoked a stimulating discussion over a bite to eat in the Food Court of Seef Mall afterwards. The film reflects on questions of human existence, the relationship of faith and reason,  and humanity’s relationships with God, Nature and the animal kingdom. Pi is the only human survivor of a shipwreck:  his entire family go down with the ship leaving only him and a fierce Bengal tiger. He learns to deal with every adversity thrown at him by the elements and the tiger that needs constant feeding, with an unshakeable love of God shaped by the influences of Hinduism, Christianity and Islam.
